Jack Lonesborough – Shoalhaven High School

Hi, my name is Jack Lonesborough. My family connection is the Jerringa mob at Rosebery Park.

I attend Shoalhaven High School, in Year 12. I heard about the Storylines SBAT program from the Careers Advisor and Clontarf. I wanted to do the Storylines SBAT with the AFL ACT/ NSW. The Storylines program is a way to study a career pathway while attending school. At school, I study English, Maths, Sports life – Recreation, and Hospitality. I was doing the Storylines SBAT program through the AFL, teaching kids to play AFL, learn skills, the meaning of the game, and to play as a team, but most of all being leaders. I chose to do the Storylines SBAT so I could stay and complete Year 12. I started in Year 11.

I like the program because it gave me the opportunity to go and work with kids and teach them how the game is played, it allowed me to travel, and to look at the difference in skill levels.

Having a Certificate 2 in Sport and Recreation will give me opportunities in careers that I am hoping to get into.
